The idea behind YourLifeFile
YourLifeFile was created to solve a very common problem: important information is often difficult to locate when it is needed during life events, emergencies or periods of uncertainty.
Many people spend years building financial security for their loved ones through insurance policies, investments, savings and other arrangements. YourLifeFile helps members organise these details during life and gives trusted persons a clear route to locate important information when needed.
While this challenge often becomes most visible after a person passes away, it can also occur during serious illness, disability, emergencies, travel and other situations where information may need to be located quickly.

Why YourLifeFile was created
The creator of YourLifeFile has been involved in the financial services industry since 2007, working with multiple long-term and short-term insurance providers and assisting clients with financial planning.
Over many years of working with clients and families, one challenge appeared repeatedly: important information is often scattered, incomplete or outdated when it is needed most.
Physical life files can be helpful, but they are rarely complete or maintained over time. They may only include policies arranged through one adviser, exclude arrangements held elsewhere, become outdated, require ongoing manual discipline, and lack reminders to keep the information current.
YourLifeFile was created to address these challenges by providing a secure digital system where individuals can record important reference information in one place and keep it updated over time.

The mission of YourLifeFile is simple: to help individuals and families stay organised, be prepared, and manage important information in a practical way.
By making important information easier to locate, YourLifeFile supports members and trusted persons during everyday administration, serious illness, emergencies, estate administration and other important life events.
What YourLifeFile does
YourLifeFile allows individuals to record important reference information such as will and estate contact details, funeral policies or arrangements, life insurance policies, investments and savings, short-term insurance policies, medical aid, health insurance, gap cover, banking relationships, liabilities, disability and income-protection benefits, other important assets or arrangements, personal messages, and nominated trusted persons.
For your security, avoid storing passwords, PINs, login credentials or other sensitive access information in your Life File.

Although YourLifeFile can assist families after the death of a loved one, it is equally valuable during life. YourLifeFile takes privacy seriously. The system operates in accordance with POPIA and collects only the information necessary to create and maintain a Life File. Information is stored securely, and access by nominated trusted persons is only considered after a verification and approval process.
